Your first visit will include a physical exam, lab work and counseling on healthy pregnancy habits. There will be plenty of time for questions. Bring your list.

10 – 15 weeks

You will be offered the chance to have blood work done that screens for chromosomal abnormalities and gender. This test is completely optional. Search your heart on this decision.

19 – 21 weeks

The half way done visit. We will discuss your plans for your ideal birth experience, discuss the second half expectations and perform a sonogram. (Bring a brand new flash drive; it can be recorded.)

28 weeks

Screen for anemia, gestational diabetes and receive the Rhogam shot if Rh negative.

34 weeks

The home stretch. This visit will offer you the whooping cough vaccine, screen for group b streptococcus (vaginal culture) and review your birth plan. (Link to birth plan.)

36 – 42 weeks

You will be coming weekly now. If you want, you will have a pelvic exam at each visit. If you are 39 weeks and prefer inductions to spontaneous labor that can also be planned.

6 weeks after delivery

Your post-partum visit will include questions about how you are doing physically and emotionally. A pelvic exam will be performed to check healing. Contraception and resuming normal activities will be discussed. We also value your opinion and will ask you what our team at Generations could do to make your next delivery experience even better.
